摘 要：In the lecture, we recall the definition of the Legendre symbols and its basic properties. Then we obtain the bound for the sum of the Legendre symbols due to I. M. Vinogradov and G. Pólya, and discuss its applications to the distribution of quadratic residues and non-residues modulo a prime.
简 介：Maxim A. Korolev，俄罗斯物理数学科学博士，俄罗斯科学院教授，俄罗斯科学院通讯院士，2019年获颁俄罗斯科学院I. M. Vinogradov奖。Korolev教授目前担任俄罗斯科学院Steklov数学研究所首席研究员及科学副所长，并担任«Izvestiya: Mathematics»杂志副主编以及«Mathematical Notes»«Chebyshevskii Sbornik»杂志的编委。
